Welcome to a brand-new corner of the blog: Final Fantasy Fangirl’s Faves! This is where you’ll find my personal favourites, including all the video games that will forever hold a special place in my pixelated heart.
Let’s kick things off with the only way to start this new category: my top 5 Final Fantasy games. These are the games I keep coming back to, whether it’s for comfort, nostalgia, epic storytelling, or just one more round of Triple Triad.
1. Final Fantasy VII
This was my first Final Fantasy love. And it’s here to stay. Forever! The world, the characters, the music… Yes, I cried. No regrets. I still remember that faithful encounter with the PC version in the local library (yes, you could actually rent video games at the library way back then!). Lucky me! Never looked back. No regrets.
2. Final Fantasy VIII
I will defend this game forever. Yes, the junction system is a LOT, but whatever! Love it! And don’t even get me started on Triple Triad! Favourite mini-game of all time!
3. Final Fantasy XIV
There’s nothing like unleashing some white mage rage and spending some quality time with friends in the magical world of Eorzea. Yes, I’m also surprised there’s an actual MMORPG on this list, but here we are..! I haven’t played Final Fantasy XIV in a while, but it’s only a matter of time before you find me running and flying through Eorzea again.

4. Final Fantasy XV
Yeah, I know it’s a mess… but ain’t we all from time to time? Fun fact: the road to recovery from burnout started with another Final Fantasy XV playthrough. And for good reason! Even the longest and darkest roads are basically a roadtrip when you’ve got yourself a few good friends, comfort food and some campfires to take a break along the way.
5. Final Fantasy XVI
Accept the truth (Hold L3 + L3): this game deserves its spot on this list!
The story. The combat. The drama. The dog. Enough said.
